The Right Path

In this week's Moving Forward Monday we conclude our 2018 exploration of inspirational Commencement Speeches with Jon Stewart's 2004 speech for The College of William and Mary where he answers the question "So how do you know what is The Right Path to choose to get the result that you desire? And the honest answer is this: You won't." And he goes on to remind us that “College is something you complete. Life is something you experience. So don't worry about the results or success. Success… will come from your own internal sense of decency.” So “Love what you do. Get good at it… and let the chips fall where they may.”

We invite you to watch, laugh and learn with us through Jon's comedy and insightful rhetoric.

So this week, we take a minute to think about The Right Path for our lives and how we make decisions for our journey. Take the road less traveled? Follow the leader? Or listen to our own tune? Maybe a little of each. Each decision can be scary and feel monumental when we wrap our definition of success up in it. Especially when we can't see all the way down the path to know if it's one of those tricky off-ramps that veers right only to swing around and take us left. So regardless of our process for deciding, maybe we should just relax and enjoy the ride. Because it's possible that The Right Path is simply the path we choose to travel.
