Commencement

In this week's Moving Forward Monday we take time to think about the transition from winter to spring. The conclusion of one season and Commencement of the next phase in the cycle.
Commencement is defined as “a ceremony in which degrees or diplomas are conferred on graduating students”. It is also defined as the “a beginning or start.” It appears ironic, then, that we would use the same term for an end and a beginning. Yet this is actually how life and all of our universe works… endless cycles and transitions… when one cycle concludes, another moves forward. And in some cases, an end to one thing is necessary for the next one to start or ever exist.
Throughout the month of May, we'll be celebrating Commencement in all of its definitions as we bring you super-inspiring commencement speeches to get your week started off right. Today, we'll kick off this series with some thoughts on Commencement by Bruce Pulver, author of Above the Chatter, Our Words Matter.
Spring is a time for emerging and growing. Often it begins with a COMMENCEMENT...
Completes and Begins
Opens Opportunity
Marks Accomplishment
Makes us Proud
Enables Change
Now What?
Choose Your Path
Embrace Your Future
Make Your Mark
Empower Your Knowledge
Never Give Up
Take on the World
So this week, take a minute to think about where you are in your natural cycles. And if you're concerned about something coming to an end, ask yourself "what might be about to begin?". We invite you to look back and think about the amazing things or events in your life that required something else to end so it could be. For the bountiful harvest in summer required the spring rains to come and go, and so do the phases of our lives.
