Ice Cave by Sergey Pesterev in Lake Baikal_Russia

In this week's Moving Forward Monday post, it's time to think about getting through the hard times, aka winter (with a special initialism by Bruce Pulver, author of Above The Chatter, Our Words Matter and image courtesy of National Geographic).

Just as the weather has seasons, so do we, and so does our business. When it's summer and everything is warm and flowing, we feel great. In those times it's easy to be optimistic and ride the wave of momentum. But inevitably, it turns to fall (well named) and then winter.

In winter it's dark, cold, slow and sometimes lonely. It can feel like the walls are closing in and difficult to see the light. But it is in those times that we need to muster our courage, our self-discipline and Push Through. When it seems like we're being encased in a cave of ice, we must work the hardest to Chisel our way out.

Choose to keep going

Have the end in mind

Ignite your reserve tank

Set incremental targets

Energize and execute

Let nothing stop you!

So this week, if you are feeling like the cold is setting in, remind yourself that this is a season and if you Push Through, it will pass. And when your spring season arrives, you will be better and stronger for having this winter.
