As we continue to celebrate National Mentoring Month, this week’s Moving Forward Monday post considers the benefits of recruiting and fostering talent.
What is Smart? Is it the intellectual ability to know more than most? Or is it being aware that no one is better educated or informed than someone who has access to many knowledgeable people?
A CEO survey found that “the most successful CEOs” while intelligent, are typically not the most intelligent of their C-Suite; however, they excel at recruiting and motivating top talent. They are the best leaders of brilliant people. They hire Smart People and unleash their potential.
So this week as you think about your management and leadership skills, ask yourself… Do you want to be the smartest individual in the room? Or the smartest leader? Are you threatened by Smart People, or will you surround yourself with them and harness their potential to propel your organization?
